Reviewer Guidelines

Reviewers play a vital role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and academic contribution of manuscripts submitted to SIMBA: Sistem, Informasi, Manajemen, dan Bisnis Adaptif. These guidelines are intended to assist reviewers in conducting evaluations with fairness, professionalism, and ethical responsibility.

1. General Responsibilities

  • Provide a constructive, objective, and timely review based on academic merit.

  • Maintain confidentiality and do not share or disclose manuscript content to others.

  • Declare any conflict of interest that may affect your ability to review the manuscript impartially.

  • Notify the editor if you feel unqualified to review a particular submission or cannot meet the review deadline.

2. Review Process

  • SIMBA follows a double-blind peer review system. Both reviewer and author identities are kept anonymous.

  • Reviewers are expected to evaluate:

    • Relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s scope.

    • Originality and contribution to the field.

    • Clarity of objectives, methodology, and results.

    • Accuracy and validity of data, analysis, and interpretation.

    • Structure and adherence to academic writing standards.

    • Use of references and citation of related works.

3. Evaluation Outcome

Reviewers will be asked to provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept without revision.

  • Accept with minor revisions (e.g., grammar, formatting, minor clarification).

  • Major revision required (e.g., methodological flaws, unclear argumentation).

  • Reject (e.g., lacks originality, does not fit journal scope, poor quality).

In addition to the recommendation, reviewers are encouraged to provide detailed comments to help the author improve the manuscript, even if the recommendation is to reject.

4. Ethical Considerations

  • Do not use any information or ideas from the manuscript for personal advantage.

  • Be respectful and professional in your feedback. Avoid personal criticism.

  • Report any indication of plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical research to the editor immediately.

  • Avoid reviewing manuscripts where there is a financial, academic, or personal conflict of interest.

5. Review Format

When submitting your review, please include:

  • General assessment of the manuscript.

  • Specific comments for each section (title, abstract, introduction, method, results, conclusion).

  • Suggestions for improvement, including technical or editorial issues.

  • Confidential comments to the editor (optional).
